Mike Pence is under the forensic microscope and scalpel in a forthcoming book “The Shadow President: The Truth About Mike Pence” out late August. Having reviewed an early copy the NY Times calls him ‘self-infatuated, a bigot, a liar and cruel.’ Daily Kos adds their take with ‘zealot, dominionist, theocrat – front man for a long line of evangelical wingnuts who want to take over America.’
Seen as an ineffectual congressman, he cozyed up to the Koch brothers, Betsy DeVos and other rich Republican donors; “ordered up a collection of custom-embroidered clothes —decorated with his name and the words Governor of Indiana”; looked likely to lose a re-election but was saved from ignominy by Trump’s VP offer. Disregards science in his onetime insistence that smoking doesn’t cause cancer and a belief that climate change warnings were “a secret effort to increase government control over people’s lives.”
As governor, he refused to pardon a black man who had spent almost a decade in prison for a crime that he clearly hadn’t committed. He also ignored a crisis in which people in a poor, largely black Indiana city were exposed to dangerously high levels of lead. And called the unhinged former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio a “tireless champion” of the “rule of law, ” after Arpaio’s contempt-of-court conviction for ignoring a federal judge’s order to stop using illegal tactics to torment immigrants. He’s fiercely opposed to abortion (could warrant the death penalty), pro gay conversion therapy, anti same-sex marriage.
The author Michael D’Anionio said “He is absolutely certain that his moral view should govern public policy.”
Pence is taking the line of least resistance in swampy conditions till late 2019 with tr Neptune square his Gemini Sun; with a disaster or two this year mid July to late August; and November to mid December as tr Pluto squares his Mars/Saturn midpoint so the book will do damage.
He does have Solar Arc Sun conjunct his Uranus, exact sometime in 2019 which suggests a major turnaround with unexpected events – and Uranus being tricky it can go either way, either a breakthrough changing his life out of all recognition or a shock that knocks him off track.
What is worrisome (partisan thought) is that tr Pluto will sextile his Jupiter in 2020/2021, exact at the next Inauguration, which is usually an indicator of confidence and success. Though tr Pluto squares his Saturn/Uranus at the same time which is a considerable struggle against enormous odds, often limits freedom and can be high-risk; and he has tr Saturn also square his Mars for a setback on January 20 2021 as well. Plus he has a disappointing Pluto square to a Neptune midpoint over the election.
Pence’s wife, Karen, will be going into overdrive through 2019/2020 with some minor success and a good deal of aggravation with tr Pluto sextile her Sun/Jupiter and trine her Mars in Taurus; with two discouraging Solar Arcs of Saturn square her Sun this year and her Venus in 2020; plus a devastating, disorienting Solar Arc Pluto conjunct Neptune in a few months’ time. She’s the heavyweight in the family with a Yod of Saturn in self-righteous Sagittarius sextile a Libra North Node inconjunct Mars in Taurus with her Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Neptune in Scorpio. Their relationship chart has a controlling composite Sun Pluto – and an emotionally ratchety and a-not-altogether-kind composite Mars opposition Saturn square Venus. It’s a very one-sided partnership.
Pence’s relationship chart with the USA is a good deal more volatile and disruptive than Trump’s with a composite Uranus, Mars, Venus square Pluto – and is under a Saturninian cloud in 2019. Trump’s has a locked-together with gritted-teeth Sun, Pluto, Saturn.
Be careful what you wish for. It could get worse. Or as the NYT has it – from kleptocracy to theocracy.
As I mentioned here once before, this is the year to pay extra attention to what this guy is up to, especially any shifts in the scope and nature of his activities: At age 59, both Jupiter and Saturn are returning to their natal positions. 25 Scorpio for Jupiter, 05 Capricorn for Saturn.
What makes sense for natal houses for Jupiter and Saturn? His severe moral viewpoint would suggest Saturn in ninth, but that would mean Taurus rising — maybe late Taurus, in the Saturn sub-ruled decanate. That would mean a birth time before sunrise, and Luna in late Gemini.
Birth time in afternoon or evening would put Luna in Cancer opposite Saturn: an even greater level of severity.
I note that the lunar eclipse with Mars Rx on 27 July was exactly lined up with natal Mars, which is getting three passes from transit Mars between late May and late September. The partial solar eclipse on 15 Feb 2018 — as well as the total solar eclipse in August 2017 — was exactly lined up with natal Chiron. These might provide some clues for some astrologer paying closer attention than I have been.
Jude of StarsOverWashington predicts Trump will win in 2020. Marjorie’s analysis of Pence’s aspects around then are in line with a Trump victory.
Stars Over Washington is usually wrong. They’ve made MANY political predictions that turned out to be wrong in the past. Just sayin’.

Trump will not win the people’s vote, just like he did not win it in 2016. But the Republican Party’s gift of honorary American citizenship to Russian hackers may give the Presidency to Trump yet again.

I’ve always admired and appreciated Marjorie’s candid, thorough and extremely knowledgeable readings. Unlike all too many astrologers, she calls a spade a spade, never sugar-coating people or events. Accuracy and honesty are what I look for in an astrologer. Accordingly, I feel fortunate that I found Marjorie’s site (years ago!).
Indeed, as a student of this subject, I’ve learned a helluva lot from this site not only from Marjorie herself but from many of the insightful contributors below the line. It doesn’t go unappreciated that she does all this free of charge and I too am very grateful that I stumbled across this wonderful blog.

I think that is a perfect description of the feeling of the USA during the first 18 years of the 21st century. But hopefully that can change moving forward.
Do feel free to pitch in with the happy news. The description of Pence wasn’t by me but by those who know his career better than I. You reckon he’s a great all round guy? Not sure how you would alternatively interpret tr Neptune square Sun and tr Pluto square Mars/Saturn.
I do wish people wouldn’t blame me for what the astrology says. I’m not Merlin and I don’t make the influences up.
Maybe it is just the mother that men call their wives after years of marriage, I call my husband Dad as well as his first name. It may not mean anything at all, just they have raised a family and have that habit of calling the spouse mum or dad.
That 2020/21 transit must be something else rather than presidency. Above all, while I think he might briefly succeed DJT if DJT stepped down, I simply do not see him winning a National Election. What ever you think of Trump, he is charismatic. Pence just comes across as creepy, even to many Trump voters.
But my long time theory is Pence will go down before Trump. So, it’s possible he will be pardoned by Trump, or who ever is left to rule as Republican President and who will lose to a Democrat late 2020 for obstruction of justice related to Michael Flynn he committed somewhere along the way. Remember, he was Head of Transition and “lying to VP Pence” was given as the official explanation for Trump sacking Flynn. Flynn is collaborating with Mueller, meaning they had something big enough on him for him to flip rather than stand the trial, as Manafort will. I think it’s likely to involve the person Flynn would have had daily communications with from November 2016 to February 2017 – Mike Pence. Too bad we still do not have birthdate for Flynn.

Manafort has a chart that’s dominated by Aries, and Saturn isn’t doing him any favors now. Jupiter isn’t far ahead, and while it’s usually a lucky star, squares tend to produce hybris of some sort. I think there was a post on him here long time ago, and his indictment didn’t surprise anyone who’d looked at that chart.
It has now been revealed he got as much as 60 million US dollars lobbying for then pro-Russian Government in Ukraine. To put that in scale, Ukraine had a GDP of 180 billion in 2013. Manafort was rewarded en equevalent of 0.03 per cent of their GDP for this. This is obscene.
He also calls his wife “Mother” and was suggested to Trump by Manafort.
That is one very odd relationship. With mother Karen, I mean.
