July 2018

An Eclipse month always means a heightened sense of anticipation. The emotionally self-protective Cancer Sun until the 22nd starts in enthusiastic and upbeat mood with a Jupiter trine spreading around cheer especially over home and family matters. Then tenses up with Pluto in opposition before the Solar Eclipse on the 13th, an especially powerful New Moon. This is a chance and a challenge to develop, to shake off old habit patterns and expand one area of life. Letting go is never easy under Cancer’s umbrella but living with feet stuck in the past won’t work.  Venus moves out of showy, extravagant Leo on the 10th into understated, keen-to-be-of-service Virgo for a few weeks.

Mars continues its contrary, ornery way in Aquarius with a rumble early on and makes its presence felt more obviously in the final days. By that time the Sun has moved into flamboyant, sociable Leo hits a square to rebellious Uranus and then makes an argumentative opposition to Mars on the day of the Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, a powerful Full Moon. So it won’t be a peaceful finish to July with a few outbursts and disruptions. In the middle of which the Lunar Eclipse demands balance, finding a way of giving due attention to both head and heart, paying attention to detail keeping the big picture in mind, finding time for friends as well as loved ones.
