Harry & Meghan Sussex – a happy occasion

The marriage vows between Prince Harry and Meghan (Duke and Duchess of Sussex) were taken at 12.39 pm in Windsor.

There was a Water Grand Trine of Cancer Moon trine Jupiter in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces, which is emotionally private and self-protective, can be healing for others. Formed into a Kite by an intense Moon opposition Pluto. It makes Pluto the driving planet and tied into Jupiter, suggests an ambitious, influential power-couple marriage.

There is also an Earth Grand Trine of Saturn trine a Virgo Ascendant trine Mercury Uranus in Taurus, which brings practicality to the mix with new ideas in play, especially abroad – which fits with them having been nominated for a Commonwealth role. Uranus is further emphasised being on the point of a T Square to a leadership Leo North Node opposition Mars – innovative, not scared to ruffle conservative feathers; but since it trines Saturn there’ll be a nod to traditional values.

It’s a chart which also describes the family arguments running into the wedding with the Moon opposition Pluto and Mars; and the explosive Mars Uranus.

Often wedding charts reflect the relationship chart though in this case not so much. Harry/Meghan has a curiously contradictory mix of a needs-space composite Sun square Uranus; a showbizzy Neptune square Mars; and a rigid and somewhat bleak composite Moon square Saturn Pluto, with duty looming large and taking precedence over feelings.

As ever the Royal pomp and pageantry showed the UK at its best. I remember watching the Queen Mother’s funeral which ran like clockwork and thinking the sooner the military take over running the country the better. The guests were an eclectic mix with the bride’s mother, Amal Clooney and several others looking fabulous; Victoria Beckham with the oddest shoes (no wonder she’s so pinched face); Princess Anne looking grumpy, dressed in her own peculiarly unattractive style; and when, dear heavens, will Prince Andrews’ two girls ever get themselves a stylist to pick their clothes and hats sensibly.

Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother may have been born 2 September 1956 which would make her a Sun Jupiter in Virgo; with a healing Water Grand Trine of Venus in Cancer trine Mars trine Saturn and Saturn square Pluto. She’s a yoga teacher and social worker so it would fit.

  1. I’m enjoying the posts and comments in this subject. As much as I ejoyed the thread for the US Civil War…which has since disappeared. Plenty of insight, sharing, and honest opinions. Thank you all.

  2. Hmmm…..very interesting. Thanks, Solaia. My grandmother took the Bruce lineage very seriously, claiming to know all about our family’s history thereof. She passed away many years ago, taking all that knowledge with her. Wish I’d had the chance to talk with her about it. My relatives on that side take it for granted that we’re related to Bruce but don’t seem to know much about it. Perhaps someday I’ll do some genealogical investigating. Meanwhile, I’m shopping for a tiara.

  3. I was told in my youth that my father’s side was related to King Bruce of Scotland. My paternal grandmother even had the Bruce coat of arms (framed). Later on I found out that everyone says they’re related to King Bruce. Either the ol’ guy sewed a lot of wild oats in his day or he somehow became the poster boy for royal wannabes. LOL

    • This isn’t actually that unlikely. Direct male line of Robert Bruce died off in the 14th century, but he had several daughters. One of them gave Stewarts the claim for the throne. Since they were of royal heritage, their issue would have been recorded. Their children also had much better chance surviving to childbaring age “common mortals” would have had. And, since Robert Bruce lived in the late 13th and early 14th century, he would be ancestor to whole lot of people people of European ancestry. We are talking about millions of people living today.

  4. My favorite part of the wedding was the Choir singing “Stand By Me”. That was very moving. And the couple looked stunning. Wishing them and the UK all the best.

One thing that stood out for me in the composite chart you posted for Meghan and Harry is Pluto in the 7th squaring the moon in the 3rd.. That is concerning to me and it could get nasty if this relationship ever did end in divorce. A media war of words I suspect. All relationships have challenges of course, but I hope it’s all behind closed doors and that they will always be able to work it out privately.

Another thing I noticed is Meghan’s Pluto almost sitting on Harry’s Venus by only 4 degrees in the synastry chart you posted awhile back. I can see now why they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. It’s that obsessive, compulsive, intensive sexual energy that can be both exhilarating and frightening at the same time. “I can’t live with you, but I can’t live without you” type of thing. I had this aspect with a former boyfriend. It was very hard going, especially with him being the Pluto and me the Venus. Pluto being the more dominate/devouring and in-control planet that seems to hold all the power, but the pull and obsession goes both ways. I was reduced to spying on him and both of us having jealous outburst. He was reduced to controlling everything in my life, including picking the friends I was allowed to have. I felt like I was dying inside but I didn’t want to lose him nor did he want to let me go. Thank God that is in my past and I haven’t had that kind of relationship since, but it did change me for the better I think. It lasted a few excruciating years, but then we really didn’t have any stabilizing Saturn aspects so it was bound to end. Meghan has her Saturn square his Jupiter so possibly a helpful force(?). Not sure about that. But I do wonder if this relationship will be more profound for Harry than it will be for Meghan since this Pluto/Venus scenario will be playing out in his 8th and her 4th. I suppose only time will tell.

I wish in the future you will consider doing a comparison chart between the Queen or the UK with Meghan. I understand right now everyone is in a celebratory mood as expected, but I think it would be interesting to see, as things progress.

I figured the Queen allowed this marriage even though it broke many Royal protocols because she has her heirs and spares needed to keep the Monarchy going and Harry keeps going down the succession line with each child born to William anyway. Besides if William has two more children, then Harry would have been out of the top six and could have married whomever he wanted without the Queen’s consent. However, you can’t put the genie back in the bottle, so already the Monarchy rules have shifted and probably changed them forever.

  5. Chris, I hate to upset your dream but if it wasn’t for a fair few coachmen and maids infiltrated into the aristo bloodline down the centuries they’d never have survived. If the blue-blooded m’lord wasn’t up to the task then it was m’lady’s responsibility to get herself pregnant by whatever means possible. A few sturdy peasant genes helped to strengthen the stock. Many aristos were known as weak-chinned, a touch short on IQ and sexual potency.
Most of European Royalty nowadays has some ancestral connection to Queen Victoria, who set out on a military campaign to marry her unfortunate offspring hither and thither. Marrying cousins, second cousins etc is frowned on nowadays where it is culturally acceptable in Pakistani communities for example. Inbreeding causes real problems and would never be sanctioned in the ‘pure blood’ thoroughbred racehorse industry.

    • Marjorie, too true and another thing Saturday proves is that snobbery and any form of ‘ism’ does not appear to exist in today’s Royal Family (and hasn’t for many years – Edward VII friendship with the Rothschilds!). Although MM seems to have deprioritised her acting career to focus on her activism on the official website. Time will tell…

    • Catherine I of Russia was an actual servant before becoming an Empress. And, quite possibly related to me. His suggested mothernal grandfather was brother to one of my forefathers. All successive Romanovs except for poor Peter II, and Catherine II, who was married to her grandson, may have descended from her. That if Paul I wasn’t, indeed, son to Sergei Saltykov (he bared a remarkable resemblance to Peter III, though, so Catherine II may have just been spiteful suggesting Peter III wasn’t the father).

  6. Larry,
We’ll, since you asked (and even though you asked me saracastically, I’m going to give you a pass and answer your question anyway), my father’s family actually has a crest (unlike Kate or Meghan’s families) and my mother is related to the Woodsons and Taliaferros – who are the founding families of the Virginia colony.

My mother also has family from the Mayflower and she’s also related to a 17th century Barron who was stripped of his title for marrying a Welsh woman of the Quaker religion.

My mother also qualifys to be a member of the Daughters of the Revolution because of her very well documented New England heritage.

Almost forgot, my mother is also directly related to Dolly Madison.

    Now, fory father’s side again.

My father’s family has minor Spanish nobility – he had relatives that were knighted in the 19th century….and that explains how we got the crest.

Oh, and I also have Crypytic / “Converso” Sephardi Jewish ancestry from my father’s side (my surname “Romero” is a Sephardi Jewish name by the way) and we discovered through a genealogist that we may even have distant ties to the prominent Sephardi Carasso family.

In other words, I have more of a family tree and “blue blood” than Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle can boast about.

So, that’s what makes my bloodline so “special.”

Does that answer your question Larry?

Anyway, I’m not the one trying to marry into the British Royal family or the British aristocracy (even though I’d be more qualified than someone like Kate or Meghan), so, you really shouldn’t concern yourself with my heritage (which is in deed more impressive than Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and probably yours).

    • I’m actually impressed; thanks for not going postal on me. Your initial post comes across, however, in gold-digger style. Maybe that was your intent. I dunno. The follow-on post is definitely descriptive yet arrogant. Memento mori.

Now, I could claim heritage to being a bastard Habsburg and having that mild deformity known as the Habsburg lip. Also notable in my lineage are references to a “President Prince Caracciolo”. What do I know? I’m East Coast Italian and a Yankee.

    • Wow …… ! It’s amazing how much information you can get about the character of a person by the way they write.

It’s quite possible Chris that Harry, if he knew of you, wouldn’t care for you either. So what is your point?

      Que sera sera!!

  7. I wasn’t impressed. I’ve never liked Meghan Markle – she’s always come across to me as fake, superficial, and competitive (for the spotlight).

I’ve never really cared.much for Prince Harry either. He’s always come across to me as an underachiever and a Playboy. One thing that’s always rubbed me the wrong way about Harry is his seemingly lack of respect for tradition and continuity. Harry has often talked about how much he loathes the responsibility of royal life. However, Harry certainly doesn’t mind reaping all the benefits of it (like the money and the jetset lifestyle). If Harry doesn’t appreciate tradition and the historical institution he was born into, then perhaps he should ask to be relinquished of his title and live a private life (other royals have done so in the past).

I do have a lot of admiration for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles though – they’ve always kept with tradition (like following protocol and marrying other royals and aristocrats).

Many people assume that just I’m American, I’d be “delighted” or “estatic” that and an American made it into the British Royal Family – well, I’m not. I’m very disappointed actually.

I believe aristocrats and royals should marry other aristocrats and royals – otherwise they just become families of “common bloods” with no unique histories or pedigrees behind them.

I was just as disappointed when Prince William married Kate Middleton – another commoner who had truck drivers and chimney sweepers as ancestors.

I was really hoping Prince Harry had chosen an aristocratic or royal woman to marry – I don’t care what country she’s from (Cambodia, Sweden, Lesotho, Swaziland, Luxembourg, etc) just as long as she was an aristocrat or royal.

I’m so glad the Royal families of the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania are keeping more with tradition and not going “downhill” like Europe’s.

Pollution of the bloodstream, now is it? What makes someone like you so very…special?

      • Jennifer,

If you didn’t get my “point,” then read my post again. My “point” is: I’m not a fan of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, or these so-called “royal weddings” (because they’re not really “royal weddings” anymore). There, I put it in layman terms for you.

And just for the record, I couldn’t care less what Prince Harry would “think” of me if he knew me. I doubt Harry does much thinking anyway; I’ve heard he isn’t the brightest person in the world. After all, he barely graduated from Eton and he ended up marrying a B-rate American actress who’s only claim to fame was a silly TV series most people have never even or heard of.

I would actually be more disappointed if Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Charles didn’t “care for me” if they knew me because, despite how I feel about Prince Harry (and to a lesser extent, Prince William), I greatly admire Elizabeth and Charles so I’d certainly value their opinion of me.

All in all, you don’t have to like my opinion nor do you have to agree with it. However, you are going to have to accept the fact that we live in a world that’s full of people with opposing viewpoints – just like I have to accept William and Harry’s NON-ROYAL marriages.

On that note, I’ll reiterate what you posted: “Que Sera Sera” (LOVE that song by Doris Day by the way)

  8. Harry is, by far, my favorite British Royal Family member. Having lost my mother very early as well, I felt enormous empathy for both him and William after their mother died. But there’s something else about Harry, too, that’s incredibly endearing. Infact, even my husband likes him after seeing a show on him doing an Arctic Expedition with some British veterans. My husband said he could well think having a beer with this guy. That he’d choose to marry a woman who is a declared feminist, a divorcee and biracial is just an icing on the cake. That he’d insist inviting Auntie Sarah, mother to cousins he is obviously close with, but who has been shunned in all Royal Weddings for ages, shows character, too.

  9. Great, really cheered not just the country up, everyone else as well. 1.9 billion watched it The French were riveted, ditto USA. The Royals are worth every penny and it was organised beautifully in terms of pomp, processions and military ceremonial. More please as an antidote to Brexit drear and the other horrors of the globe.

    • I concur! I wasn’t going to watch (here in the US), but turned it on just as the vows were about to be said (plus news recaps of the earlier bits) – so endearing, and such a lovely welcome break from the relentlessly depressing rest of the news.

  10. Good luck to them. A pageant of romantic love and a welcome distraction from a troubled, divided, wrathful world.

  11. What a gorgeous wedding. Absolute perfection. Loved the elegant simplicity of her gown. I gotta hand it to the Brits–they know how to do it right. Harry and Meghan gazed so adoringly at each other–looks like the real deal to me. I know, I know, all couples start out like that. Hope they overcome some of the more negative astro aspects. Whatever…..it was a joy watching the whole ceremony. Put me in the right frame of mind after the hideous news from Texas.

    • Yes totally glorious and great for Britain, but I did have a nagging feeling throughout the day that she is a good actress, Harry is clearly smitten and together with the astrological portents just think it will all end in tears soon rather than later

      • Maybe….. but we can and choose to enjoy the moment and park all cynical thought.

‘….. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridty and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass….. ‘

        Happy Sunday!

  12. Absolutely beautiful wedding and day. May the sun continue to shine on them. Maybe love will conquer all. It definitely conquered today! 🙂

  13. My cousin is getting married tomorrow (Sunday) evening, just before sunset. Would the above chart hold for that as well, Marjorie?
