May 2018

A much calmer month astro-wise than April with the harsh Sun Mars Saturn Pluto influences over for the time being. The steady Taurus Sun holds sway till the 21st  with a thoughtful sextile to Neptune on the 6th, a happy-go-lucky opposition to Jupiter three days later and a get-it-together trine to Pluto on the 11th.

Mid-month is where the changes start. En passant the Uranus square Mars on the 16th will throw up a few surprises, IT glitches et al. But it is the Uranus shift into Taurus on the 15th which is the headline news, since it only shifts sign every seven years. It will dally back into Aries for four months from November, but this will set on theme for the time ahead. Taurus is a sign which rules money, possessions, agriculture, all things material, practical and earthy. It hates change but Uranus is the planet of sudden upheaval and (hopefully) more enlightened attitudes. So needs must during this time that new values are aspired to and put into practice.

Mid-month as well Mars moves into Aquarius to stay till mid August which tends to be stubbornly argumentative, though adept at ploughing its own furrow.

Venus in social-butterfly Gemini will provide fun up to the 19th, then sink happily into self-protective, family-oriented Cancer thereafter,

In the final ten days the lighter-hearted Gemini Sun skips in to provide stimulating chats and much running around.

Saturn: In Capricorn from December 20th 2017 till 2020/21 – usually coincides with a time of some financial shortages and the need to push ambitions ahead with persistence.

Uranus: In Aries from 1 March 2011 till 2018 – hyper-active, energetic, determined to make new starts even if it means upsetting people, go ahead. From May 2018 into Taurus for seven years – changing attitudes to handling of money, possessions and resources especially in agriculture and our attitude to nature.

Neptune: In Pisces from February 2012 for thirteen years – religious, spiritual, has resonances with Muslim history.

Pluto: In Capricorn for sixteen years from Nov 2008 till 2024 = complete deconstruction and reconstruction of global economic and commercial structures and systems, as well as major changes in way in which governments work. In past times of Pluto in Capricorn (approximately every 250 years) there was territorial domination on a grand scale by charismatic leaders and ultimately a time of culture, learning, justice and prosperity.
