This is Eclipse month with a Solar Eclipse (New Moon) on the 6th and a Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) on the 21st so there will be heightened anticipation and an edgy mood about impending changes (See under Eclipses).
Even without those it would still be a testing, challenging month with the tough Saturn Pluto in Capricorn drawing closer together, bringing a need for grit and perseverance; with the tail-end of the disruptive Uranus Pluto square still in effect.
The earthy, materialistic Capricorn Sun around till the 20th will have a bumpy passage, where finances and ambitions are concerned, as it crosses discouraging Saturn on the 2nd, forms a challenging Solar Eclipse on the 6th, meets a pressured Pluto on the 11th and finally gets jolted by an unsettling Uranus on the 19th before exiting into Aquarius.
Jupiter picking up a square to Neptune towards mid month hints that high hopes will bring disappointments especially where money is concerned. Being realistic will be more sensible than staying in a bubble of false happiness.
Mars zipping into assertive, abrasive, none-too-tactful Aries from the 1st won’t help to calm the mood since it won’t respond well to the delays and slow progress of the month.
Venus in adventurous Sagittarius will attempt to lighten and liven the social mood with a few highlights to relieve tension.
The final ten days with the Aquarius Sun in place, start on a Lunar Eclipse and an irritable, slightly accident-prone Mars Saturn clash. Needing to balance opposites and maintain tact and diplomacy in the face of difficulties won’t be easy.
A small triumph on the 25th will add a touch of sparkle and enthusiasm to proceedings though the shadow of testing influences in early February will not make for a light-hearted mood.

OUTER PLANETS
Jupiter into its own sign Sagittarius for a year from November 8 2018. Sagittarius is sporting, active, well-travelled, likes foreign cultures and countries; can also be philosophical, thoughtful, well-informed and narrow-minded.
Saturn: In Capricorn from December 20th 2017 till 2020/21 – usually coincides with a time of some financial shortages and the need to push ambitions ahead with persistence.
Uranus: In Aries from 1 March 2011 till May 15 2018 returning briefly from early November 2018 to early March 2019, when it leaves for good – hyper-active, energetic, determined to make new starts even if it means upsetting people, go ahead. From March 2019 into Taurus for seven years – changing attitudes to handling of money, possessions and resources especially in agriculture and our attitude to nature.
Neptune: In Pisces from February 2012 for thirteen years – religious, spiritual, has resonances with Muslim history.
Pluto: In Capricorn for sixteen years from Nov 2008 till 2024 = complete deconstruction and reconstruction of global economic and commercial structures and systems, as well as major changes in way in which governments work. In past times of Pluto in Capricorn (approximately every 250 years) there was territorial domination on a grand scale by charismatic leaders and ultimately a time of culture, learning, justice and prosperity.
