Stacey Abrams – maybe about to make history

Stacey Abrams made history Tuesday night by being the nation’s first black woman nominated for governor by a major political party, the Democrats in Georgia. She won by huge margins, all the more surprising since Georgia was once known as all white. At this stage she’s still the underdog, but if she does win in November, she would be the first woman as well as the first African American elected governor of Georgia, and the first black woman to govern any state in the US.

Born 9 December 1973, she is a fiery Sun Sagittarius widely trine Mars in pro-active Aries, so definitely willing to have a go. She has a tough-minded Saturn square Pluto and sextile Mars, so she’s got grit won from hard experience. She’s also got a charming and confident Pluto trine Venus Jupiter in Aquarius, sextile Mercury Neptune in Sagittarius. Venus Jupiter is handy for politics giving an ability to turn charm on to order; Mercury Pluto is deep thinking and persuasive; a focal point Mercury is communicative and able to multi-task; Neptune makes her idealistic though not always easy to pin down.

She’s a long shot to win but she does have tr Pluto conjunct her Sun/Jupiter midpoint in early November which is a definite plus point so she might just make it. 2019 won’t be a picnic but she looks to be coming into her own through the 2020s.

  1. Did you know she is an author and writes romance trillers? I didn’t even know that. She went to law school at Penn state I believe. Wonderful and charming person.

  2. Georgia always has had a very large black population (over 30%). The issue always has been the entrenched powers-that-be using all methods, legal or otherwise, to prevent those citizens from voting.

  3. Marjorie,

Thank you so much for writing about this. Judging by your analysis, it looks like Stacey Abrams has a fairly positive chart and I’m happy to hear that she has a good chance of winning this November. I’m excited for Stacey Abrams and I’m wishing her the best of luck this year. I’m not a resident of Georgia (I live in North Florida), but my parents and I do travel and vacation in Georgia a lot. Georgia’s a beautiful state (especially around the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountainous regions)..but it’s conservative politics are horrible.

Hopefully, due to rapidly changing demographics, Georgia will elect Democrat Stacey Abrams this November – she’s an excellent candidate and she has a very impressive resume. Keeping fingers crossed.

We have a gubernatorial election here in Florida this year too. Like Georgia, our governor’s mansion has been occupied by the Republicans for almost 20 years now. Hopefully, we’ll get a Democrat elected as governor here in Florida this year.
