HM Queen – in a Paradise pickle

Revelations about the Queen’s private finances in the Paradise Papers, a massive leak about the offshore holdings of mega-wealthy individuals and conglomerates, will send a shiver of horror through Windsor Castle. Around £10 million of her money has been invested in Caribbean boltholes much beloved of money-launderers and tax evaders. She does not manage the Duchy of Lancaster’s investments, pays tax voluntarily on any income and there appear to be no tax advantages from investing offshore. But perception is all where Royal finances are concerned. Labour MP Dame Margaret Hodges said: ‘I think the Queen herself would be completely shocked to find her advisers have used tax havens in which to invest their money and that her reputation has been sullied by the actions of the tax advisers’.

What’s intriguing, astrologically speaking, is that HMQ’s chart relocated to the Cayman Islands, puts her dutiful Saturn in Scorpio on the Ascendant, threatening to damp her image; and puts Pluto in the 8th house of hidden finances.

This year tr Neptune has been conjunct her 2nd house Venus in Pisces this year, and continues on and off to late 2018 – an undermining time where it comes to money. With tr Saturn moving later this month to square her 2nd house Uranus for a jolt or two. She certainly looks in a thoroughly bad humour this month with tr Saturn square her Sun/Mars, Sun/Jupiter and Sun/Neptune midpoints so will regard the scandal as a setback.

  1. I like the Queen too. She works very hard and is a good person. Where before no one knew the Royal happenings, now the internet and global news have made it so everyone knows their business.

  2. You are clearly more knowledgeable about the Queen’s duties than I, Marjorie. So I stand corrected in that regard. However, the British royals seem by-and-large a rather worthless lot, particularly Andrew, his daughters and countless hangers-on. Anne has worked hard for her causes and Harry’s Invictus games are admirable. Otherwise, the royal family seems terribly archaic and irrelevant in today’s world. All the perks they enjoy could be put to better use.

  3. I like the Queen. She seems a nice enough person. But what exactly does she DO? She meets with the P.M. over tea once a week, makes the occasional speech and public appearance….presides over the occasional glittering banquet dripping in priceless jewels. She serves no purpose other than, I suppose, presenting an image of stability in turbulent times. She has lived a life of unimaginable luxury since birth, her every whim catered to by liveried servants, moving from one palace to another when mood suits. Being a Taurus, she surely has enjoyed all the indulgences her position affords. As for her great sense of duty……hmmm, maybe. She certainly is stalwart (Taurus again). The British royal family has devolved into little more than a tourist attraction. Methinks the upcoming Uranian jolts to the monarchy are long overdue.

    • Hmm. In 2015 in her late 80s, the Queen attended 340 engagements through the year, most of which I’d imagine were stultifyingly boring. Except to the people she met who will probably remember it forever. The Royal schedule is pretty unrelenting and often involves very long days meeting people they don’t know endlessly; and being visible in situations where madmen could run amok with guns, especially on foreign tours. Just as well HMQ has such a fixed and dutiful chart. It’s not a lifestyle I’d cope with for a second for all the money in the world.
Apart from her racehorses which must be expensive, she lives fairly frugally. Clothes are a necessity for the job and she’d almost certainly prefer to be in tweeds and a Barbour. And would you really want a life cluttered up with servants? I wouldn’t. Royal life is a kind of a prison with precious little chance of personal space. But she’s done it well and been a mainstay for the country through reams of prime ministers. The country will feel a huge gap when she goes.

      • Hmm.The burdens seem to be shared by HMQ’s eldest son and heir.Prince Charles is also in a Paradise Pickle. He lobbied on climate policy after purchasing shares that would have benefited.Failing to get what he wanted,Charles then sold his shares a year later for three times what he paid.No.That can’t be right. It just can’t be right.

  4. I think within the next 2 years, Prince Charles will be taking over. Prince William and Duchess Catherine will have more responsibilities. Prince Charles will reorganize the finances and down size the royal family. Saturn in Capricorn coming. Plus transiting Pluto in Capricorn.

    • Saturn will transit over Charles DSC in 2021,meaning a more prominent role (accession?coronation?) so your timing may be pretty close.

  5. 10 million is pocket change for the Queen. Sounds more like 10 million in fraud and siphoning off, to be payable upon her death to some rats in the cupboard.

  6. And in 2020, Prince William will also see a solar eclipse on his birthday, and on 30 Nov 2020 also a lunar eclipse on his mercury in 8 degrees Gemini. In July of same year, a lunar eclipse on his nodal axis. Something brewing in the family. Death? Succession? Scandal? A complete dissolution? 20 degrees Cancer also very active in 2019/2020 which frightens me as it is my IC angle one degree apart. But does anyone have an inkling how the above eclipses will impact William?

  7. The January 2020 lunar eclipse opposes Elizabeth’s ASC from the 6th house. That eclipse is in close conjunction with the UK Moon.So really, really not singing and dancing.

  8. How sad that a lady who has devoted her life to this country and has put duty before so many things, is having so put up with this (and other issues ) by the looks of things so late in life

  9. Yes the Uranus conjunction to her Sun in May and November of 2018 before making last contact in March of 2019 would seem to be a shock not just to HMQ but to Prince Charles as well. His Moon is in the same degree as his mother’s Sun.2019 will have the Pluto-Saturn conjunction and July lunar eclipse on her ASC.So not singing and dancing.
