Heavenly Headlines

June

With the Sun in chatty, restless, scattered Gemini until the 21st there’ll be too much going on, demanding much multi-tasking and juggling several balls in the air at once. But it certainly won’t be boring. There’ll be high hopes, then disappointment, followed by dither and indecision in week one. Mars moving into emotional, excitable cancer on the 4th to stay for several weeks will raise the heat in discussions and lead to impulsive behaviour. Luckily Venus moving into Taurus two days later to stay till early July will add a balance of calm stoicism.

Mid month the downbeat Saturn opposition to the Sun will not raise spirits for parties but will fix several mistakes and bring a note of realism. In the final ten days the Sun and Mercury join Mars in the self-protective, home-loving though pro-active sign of Cancer. It won’t be all sentimental and drenched in feelings however. Mars picks up a gung-ho, anything-goes square to Jupiter on the 25th, moving towards the Pluto opposition on July 2nd, which will cast its shadow in advance. So it’s likely to be high-wire, pushy, risk-taking and frustrating.

Neptune: In Pisces from February 2012 for thirteen years – religious, spiritual, has resonances with Muslim history.

Pluto: In Capricorn for sixteen years from Nov 2008 till 2024 = complete deconstruction and reconstruction of global economic and commercial structures and systems, as well as major changes in way in which governments work. In past times of Pluto in Capricorn (approximately every 250 years) there was territorial domination on a grand scale by charismatic leaders and ultimately a time of culture, learning, justice and prosperity.

May 2017

The steady, indulgent Taurus Sun progresses through the first three weeks with a kindly sextile to Neptune on the 3rd and a get-it-together trine to Pluto on the 9th but generally isn’t distracted.

Mercury goes direct on the 3rd in Aries which will get rid of irksome delays and communication glitches; from mid month it joins the Sun in Taurus.

Mars in chatty, argumentative Gemini has a busier month in a glamorous, though marginally uncertain square to Neptune on the 11th and a positive-thinking, successful trine to Jupiter a day later. It runs into a setbacks and major irritation in opposition to Saturn on the 19th and an uncompromising though inventive sextile to Uranus on the 31.

The one major outer planet aspect is Saturn trine Uranus on the 19th which could point to constructive progress.

April 2017

April gets off to a tough start with a blocked, irritable, challenging, slightly risky Mars trine Pluto on the 6th, followed by a stuck Aries Sun square Pluto on the 9th. On the upside Venus moving into sensitive, seductive Pisces on the 3rd, staying till the 28th, will soften a few rough edges. And a lucky, enthusiastic opposition from Jupiter to the Sun will lift spirits on the 7th. The widening Uranus Pluto has another ripple with the lively, disruptive Sun conjunction to Uranus on the 14th,before settling into a calmer gear with a trine to sensible Saturn four days later.

There are several retrogrades – Saturn and Pluto which will be negligible – and Mercury in Taurus from the 9th causing a few hitches and glitches into early May.

From the 20th the Sun slides into down-to-earth, indulgent Taurus for four weeks just as Mars exits into chatty, argumentative Gemini two days later. The Venus hops cheerfully into Aries on the 28th – so a month of mixes, chopping and changing, but the start apart, should not be too stressful.

March

A softer Neptunian start to the month will make for a vague, dreamy, maybe disappointing mood. But Jupiter Uranus on the 3rd will bring a spark of luck; and two days later a spine-straightening Mars Saturn will get life back on track. The emotionally sensitive and self-protective Pisces Sun will ebb and flow until the 20th with a setback around the 17th. Luckily Mars moving into earthy, practical Taurus on the 10th for several weeks will be better adapted to seek realistic solutions to problems and bring common sense to bear as well as determination.

Venus in Aries all month will be romantically upfront, aiming for enjoyment and entertainment. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Faint heart never won in the love stakes.

Then the Aries Sun bounces into place from the 20th for four weeks which will bring a fiery, inspirational mood where risks can be taken and new plans actioned. A surge of high confidence (a touch too much in certain cases) on the 30th from Jupiter square Pluto will finish the month on a high. Just don’t think rules won’t apply since transgressions could backfire.

February 2017

A Lunar and a Solar Eclipse this month will make it one filled with anticipation. Eclipses lay down a challenge to change life in some way, usually in the chart area ruled by the house in which it falls. It can feel like a crisis but in reality it’s an opportunity to upgrade and improve that area if the right steps are taken and followed through. Out in the world they usually accompany significant events.

The Aquarius Sun until the 18th is well supported by good aspects from lively Uranus, lucky and successful Jupiter, and sensible Saturn; with the Lunar Eclipse in Leo/Aquarius giving a wake-up call around the 11th. Since this is an especially powerful Full Moon, the hint is to find a better balance in life.

Venus in romantically upfront Aries from the 3rd will add a splash of adventure to love and social activities. Mercury in inquiring, stubborn and argumentative Aquarius from the 7th will keep conversations lively.

The Pisces Sun from the 18th for four weeks will be more emotional, self-protective and creative. It won’t appreciate the hard and aggressive Mars in Aries square Pluto on the 22nd which is usually frustrating, enraging, trapped and sometimes risky. By the Solar Eclipse (New Moon) on the 26th the mood will be volatile. The Eclipse itself promises pleasant surprises, but there’s a disruptive Mars square Uranus and over-confident opposition to Jupiter the next day, so the good news may take a few days to percolate through. Eclipses have an effect for several months ahead.

PLANETARY ASPECTS:

2: Mercury in Capricorn square Jupiter – confident, promising more than can deliver.

3: Venus into Aries till March 10th – socially active, upfront about feelings and undeterred by rejections.

6: Jupiter retrograde in Libra till early June – good luck harder to come by; a time to work on inner ideals.

7: Mercury into Aquarius till 25th – curious, wide ranging interests, obstinate and tolerant at the same time.

9: Sun in Aquarius sextile Uranus – new opportunities, positive changes.

10: Mercury sextile Venus – harmonious chats, sweet words.

11: Lunar Eclipse in Leo/Aquarius – need to find a better balance.

Sun trine Jupiter – lucky, lazy, good news.

14: Sun sextile Saturn – practical, common sense, good for planning and work.

16: Mercury sextile Mars – lively debates.

18: Sun into Pisces for four weeks – dreamy, emotionally sensitive, artistic.

21: Mercury sextile Uranus – bright ideas, inspired chats.

Mercury trine Jupiter – confident, upbeat.

22: Mars in Aries square Pluto – bulldozer meets brick wall, stuck, furious, avoid confrontations and difficult people.

23: Mercury sextile Saturn – sensible, practical

Saturn: In Sagittarius from September 19th 2015 till late 2017 – serious about knowledge, education, legal matters, religion. Defensive about criticism, self-righteous.

Uranus: In Aries from 1 March 2011 till 2018 – hyper-active, energetic, determined to make new starts even if it means upsetting people, go ahead.
