Heavenly Headlines

November 2017

Emotionally intense, passionate and secretive Scorpio holds sway with the Sun in place till the 22nd, seductive Venus there from the 7th all month, plus lucky, expansive and feminine-friendly Jupiter also in Scorpio for months and months ahead. There will be a merging of souls as well as a money-magnet to bring cheer. Plus to be admitted jealousy and darker feelings. But determination which is Scorpio’s hallmark will win out. Not for nothing is Scorpio known as the miracle maker of the zodiac. Once a decision is made, heaven, earth and mountains will be moved to reach the goal. Mercury is in crusading, outspoken and overly-honest Sagittarius from the 5th as well.

Saturn in Sagittarius is  trine Uranus in Aries on the 11th which will shed light on old problems, bring a better way ahead, combining the best of the old with the best of the new.

What to watch out for in the days before is the Mars square Pluto on the 19th which can bring a trapped, frustrating, aggravating or even fearful feeling. Being neither too submissive nor too dominating is the trick. And taking more care since it can be accident-prone or attract undesirables.

In the final ten days the enthusiastic Sagittarius Sun will turn minds towards adventure, travel, broadening horizons and far flung places. The mood will be fiery, colourful and more outgoing.

October

A heavy start to the month will be worth ploughing through since the finish will be a great success. The Libra Sun for three weeks really yearns for harmony, balance, good manners and the chance to socialise and indulge. However Mars and Venus in earthy Virgo combined with Pluto in earthy Capricorn will set a different agenda, being more concerned with solid results from hard work and not above a hint of manipulation. Putting your shoulder to the wheel and not giving up till you see real progress will be the main motto. You may have to get your hands dirty but the end result will be worth it. Don’t let anyone push you around or let irritations and setbacks towards the 11th send you into the glooms.

What will add a dollop of cheer is Jupiter moving into Scorpio for the year ahead from the 10th, which should attract money and closer connections. And gradually as Venus on the 14th and then Mars a week later move into Libra, the mood should lighten. Just after midmonth Uranus will blow away a few cobwebs, rattle the bars of cages and insist on more freedom. The triumph towards the month’s end comes from the Sun conjunct Jupiter on the 26th which should bring a morale boost and positive outcomes.

September

Neptune hangs over the start and finish of the month which will bring a sympathetic though confused and low energy mood, despite the best efforts of the hard-working Virgo Sun until the 22nd and Mars also in Virgo from the 5th till late October. So there’ll be patches of pushing on with chores, getting details sorted out; and other times of drift and daydream. Luckily Mercury goes direct early on to get rid of recent tiresome irritations and delays and by the 9th a Sun trine to Pluto should get certain matters under control. Saturn holds forth towards midmonth, requiring a realistic approach and an acceptance that mistakes need to be fixed. Luckily Venus in fun-loving Leo for three weeks will sprinkle a little stardust and romance around as well. The fair-minded and extravagant Libra Sun picks up on for the final week into October which is more relationship-oriented than self-sufficient Virgo. Though Mars remains and is joined by Venus so it won’t all be indulgence and hand-holding. Duty will still call. An exuberant, risk-taking Jupiter opposition Uranus on the 28th will bring a swoosh of enthusiasm though common sense may be lacking.

13: Venus trine Saturn in Sagittarius – cool, sophisticated, business-like charm.

14: Sun square Saturn – delays, obstacles, can be discouraging but also helpful in getting rid of illusions.

August 2017

A month with a Lunar and a Solar Eclipse and Mercury retrograde is guaranteed to produce a few surprises and glitches. Eclipses always produce a sense of heightened awareness, as if significant events were about to challenge the status quo. Part of the eclipse effect is to prod everyone into making changes in their lives, to throw away old attitudes and foster new growth in the area of life ruled by the house(s) in which the eclipse falls. They come round every six months to remind us that life should not be static.

The Leo Sun till the 22nd, accompanied by Mars, will make it a sociable, confident, assertive and noisy time as all of Leo’s attention-demanding tendencies get a boost. The Jupiter Pluto square on the 4th is also no shrinking violet and may lead to over-confidence and bullying behaviour. The powerful eclipsed Full Moon in Aquarius on the 7th demands that a better balance be found, between opposites – independence and interdependence, detail and grand plans, home and career, loved ones and friends, doing and being. Then a happy-go-lucky Jupiter sextile the Sun on the 10th will boost morale and bring luck in small ways.

Venus in Cancer till the 26th will make for indulgent moments at home or with the family, although will be sensitive to slights and mood swings.

The Solar Eclipse in the final degree of Leo on the 21st, is a powerful New Moon, though this one could be low energy and prone to muddled thinking with false information coming in. Then the Sun moves into earthy, sensible Virgo for four weeks, to get hard work under way and practical matters resolved. It won’t all be duty however as both Venus and Mercury before the months’ end move into flamboyant, entertaining Leo.

PLANETARY ASPECTS:

3: Uranus retrograde till early January – only a subtle shift, though certain innovative plans may need a rethink.

4: Jupiter in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn – might makes right, a law unto itself, social niceties will be swept to one side as over-confidence turns pushy.

7: Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius – pulled in two directions, a need to find a middle way.

10: Mercury in Virgo sextile Venus in Cancer – sweet words, gentle persuasion.

Sun in Leo sextile Jupiter – lucky, expansive, lazy.

12: Venus trine Neptune – kind, romantic, dreamy.

13: Mercury retrograde till September 5 – delays in communications, minor irritations.

Sun trine Saturn in Sagittarius – sensible, practical, good for planning.

15: Venus opposition Pluto – charismatic, jealous, possessive, manipulative.

17: Venus square Jupiter – frivolous, indulgent, sociable, extravagant.

20: Mars in Leo sextile Jupiter – surge of positive energy, good for starting projects, can create own luck.

21: Sun trine Uranus – sudden new opportunities, restrictions ease.

Solar Eclipse in Leo – focus on change.

22: Mars trine Saturn – persevering, practical, requires effort.

Sun into Virgo for four weeks – earthy, practical, hard-working, adaptable, communicative and critical.

24: Venus square Uranus – flirtatious, sociable, dislikes possessiveness, wants freedom.

25: Saturn direct in Sagittarius – not noticeable difference, though some viewpoints will be easier to get across.

26: Venus into Leo till September 20th – sociable, fun-loving, romantically upfront.

Sun conjunct Mercury – in mental overdrive, talking fast.

27: Jupiter sextile Saturn – good balance between idealism and materialism, enthusiasm and common sense.

31: Mercury into Leo till September 10th – entertaining, speaking exuberantly.

OUTER PLANETS:

Jupiter in Libra from September 9th 2016 until October 11 2017 – keen on reaching better agreements with others, that are fair to all, expansive for one-to-one partnerships. Then into Scorpio for a year.

Uranus: In Aries from 1 March 2011 till 2018 – hyper-active, energetic, determined to make new starts even if it means upsetting people, go ahead. Then into Taurus for seven years.

Neptune: In Pisces from February 2012 for thirteen years – religious, spiritual, has resonances with Muslim history.

Pluto: In Capricorn for sixteen years from Nov 2008 till 2024 = complete deconstruction and reconstruction of global economic and commercial structures and systems, as well as major changes in way in which governments work. In past times of Pluto in Capricorn (approximately every 250 years) there was territorial domination on a grand scale by charismatic leaders and ultimately a time of culture, learning, justice and prosperity.

July

A fairly rackety, stop-start month drags into gear with the blocked Mars in Cancer opposition Pluto on the 2nd. It tends to accompany feelings of frustration, if not anger, but circumstances won’t permit much wiggle room. So best accept what can’t be changed instantly and take extra precautions, since it can be a risk indicator. Mars in Cancer tends to be overly emotional since it mixes fire with water and can boil over.

Venus moving onto social-butterfly Gemini on the 5th for the rest of the month will bring a lighter touch in between times. As will a confident Jupiter on the 4th; but the slow pace of progress will continue with the Cancer Sun opposing Pluto on the 10th. Relationships are likely to be intense, with jealousy or manipulation in play.

Then into the third week, from reverse gear it moves into jolting change and high-speed surprises with first Mars and then the Sun square Uranus. IT problems often crop up with Uranus around strongly, or situations which prompt reckless reactions. So wise to stay calm and make considered decisions once the dust has settled.

On the 20th first Mars and then two days later the Sun moves into sociable, attention-seeking Leo. It’ll be flamboyant, colourful, not quiet, but less volatile than earlier in the month. Mercury moving into sensible, practical Virgo on the 25th till the end of August will help keep details under control.

5: Venus into Gemini till 31st – fun, frivolous, superficial, chatty, dislikes possessiveness.

Mercury in Cancer square Uranus – bright ideas, short attention span, outspoken.

6: Mercury into Leo until the 23th – entertaining, upfront about expressing feelings and opinions.

Sun in Cancer trine Neptune – kind. Vague, low energy.

Sun square Jupiter – confident, though maybe slightly overly so, promise more than can deliver, lazy expecting results without effort.

7: Mercury sextile Venus – harmonious words

8: Full Moon in Capricorn – pulled in two directions

10: Sun opposition Pluto – effort required to overcome obstacles, intense.

14: Mercury trine Jupiter – confident in expressing views

17: Venus square Neptune in Pisces – dreamy, though can be disappointing since not all romantic dreams come true.

18: Mars square Uranus – disruptive, high excitement, can bring insecurity so tends to lead to macho gestures to prop up self-esteem.

Venus trine Jupiter – indulgent, frivolous, sociable.

19: Mercury trine Saturn – sensible, practical, discussions need tangible outcome.

20: Mars into Leo until September 5 – entertaining, attention-seeking, proud, loud.

21: Sun square Uranus – surprises, sudden changes, not in mood to co-operate.

22: Sun into Leo for four weeks – sociable, good for entertaining, performing, children and sport.

23: New Moon in Leo – new beginnings.

24: Venus opposition Saturn in Sagittarius – separated in love, duty over fun.

Mercury trine Uranus – bright ideas, outspoken.

25: Mercury into Virgo till August 31st – nit picky, critical, but excellent for detailed work, insightful, practical, helpful.

31: Venus into Cancer till August 26th – happy at home, good for family relationships, sensitive, self-protective, moody.
