Andy Grove – survived to scale the heights

Andy Grove, a Silicon Valley pioneer in semi-conductors, helped to raise Intel to be the largest of its kind in the world. His obituaries today sing his praises as being truly unique, talented, tenacious and innovative. Born 2 September 1936 to a Jewish family in Budapest, he survived the war by hiding with his mother, then had to suffer further hardship under the Communist invasion, escaping finally in 1956 to the USA.

He was a Sun Neptune in Virgo opposition Saturn (Moon) in Pisces square an optimistic Jupiter in Sagittarius. So idealistic, a great enthusiast, creative and also a worrier and regretful of his past. His Saturn was trine Pluto giving him a tough streak; and his Mars in Leo was trine Jupiter and square Uranus –  adventurous and not scared to take risks.

His Mercury in Libra was conjunct his successful, powerfully confident Jupiter/Pluto midpoint. And his Pluto was square his Sun/Jupiter midpoint so he had the drive to make his own luck.

His Harmonics are interesting with a disciplined and lively get-it-together 5th Harmonic; a hard-driving  ‘obsessive dream’ 11H. A strong 13th Harmonic – which is associated with upheaval, exploration, genius and breaking with the orthodox. An endurance 16H; a leaving-a-legacy-for-history 17H; and a superstar 22H.
