Andrew Gillum, Mayor of Talahassie, was chosen as the surprise Democratic nominee for Governor of Florida, running on a progressive ticket with little money.
Born 26 July 1979, the son of a construction worker and a bus driver, he started his political career after college. He’s a Sun, Mercury, Jupiter in Leo. With a talented Half Grand Sextile from a publicity-attracting Mars in Gemini opposition Neptune, sextile Jupiter in Leo sextile Pluto – confident, lucky, determined. Trines aren’t always easy – depends on what planets are involved. Certainly squares and oppositions are much more challenging. But Pluto on Mars Neptune even in a trine isn’t generally great news.
Very interesting, the time leading up to November is gonna be nasty. In Colorado we have a similar situation, a gay man running on healthcare reform & renewable energy, & a Trump supporter who will support the views of the White House. With the interesting astrology on that day, it’s gonna be a crazy day which will determine the fate of our country.
I find it interesting that Gillum has an unaspected sun in Leo. He’s charismatic and is “media friendly”, so that will help him generate positive media coverage. His opponent, a Congressman who’s a member of the far right House Freedom Caucus is a conservative Virgo with an air emphasis in his chart. Sometimes you find this mix in people who are ideologues. Politicians with Sun Square Neptune can lie easily, create their own realities and sell it to the public. It should be an interesting matchup.
